MADE in USA

High quality and strong restrictions on toxic chemicals used during manufacturing.

In 1996 the FTC proposed that the requirement be stated as:

“It will not be considered a deceptive practice for a marketer to make an unqualified U.S. origin claim if, at the time it makes the claim, the marketer possesses and relies upon competent and reliable evidence that: (1) U.S. manufacturing costs constitute 75% of the manufacturing costs for the product; and (2) the product was last substantially transformed in the United States.”

ISO 9001

The standards provide guidance and tools for companies and organizations who want to ensure that their products and services consistently meet customer’s requirements, and that quality is consistently improved. ISO 9001:2008 sets out the criteria for a quality management system and is the only standard in the family that can be certified to. It can be used by any organization, large or small, regardless of its field of activity. In fact ISO 9001:2008 is implemented by over one million companies and organizations in over 170 countries.

This standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement. Using ISO 9001:2008 helps ensure that customers get consistent, good quality products and services, which in turn brings many business benefits.

The National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) mark is assurance that the product has been tested by one of the most respected independent certification organizations in existence today. It is valued by consumers, manufacturers, retailers and regulatory agencies worldwide. The NSF certification mark on a product means that the product complies with all standard requirements. NSF conducts periodic unannounced inspections and product testing to verify that the product continues to comply with the standard.

The mark provides; knowledge that an impartial review against established criteria or guidelines has been conducted; evidence that product labeling and claims have been objectively reviewed by a trusted third party; a way to differentiate your product from your competitors’ and gain advantage in the market; evidence of your organization’s company-wide commitment to quality, compliance and safety; backing by a team of professionals dedicated to public health and safety operating in more than 150 countries around the world.

Radium Reduction

When proper regeneration procedures are employed in ion exchange treatment methodologies (e.g., conventional water softeners), radium along with barium, calcium, and magnesium are effectively reduced. Radium removal has been shown to continue well after the hardness breakthrough point on both new and old cation resin beds, while barium breakthrough occurs shortly after hardness. Reverse osmosis and distillation are also effective at reducing radium. There are established standards for reducing radium by cation exchange softeners, reverse osmosis systems, and distillers. These standards actually utilize barium (Ba2+) as a conservative surrogate to demonstrate radium reduction.

Zero Footprint

Eco-Friendly Water Systems

EcoWater Systems is the only water treatment manufacturer that purchases carbon offsets through the sale of each product, and is certified to have a carbon neutral footprint.

Advanced engineering of our water softeners and water refiners leads to a reduction in your home’s energy consumption and extends appliance life cycles, all of which lead to a smaller environmental footprint. EcoWater water softeners use fewer than 17.5 kilowatt hours of energy per year. That equates to less than $2.00 per year to operate your EcoWater water softener. Our water softeners, conditioners and refiners regenerate only as needed, saving on water and salt. We offer HydroLink® technology in our water conditioners and refiners, which monitors your family’s water consumption, creating awareness of water usage.

An EcoWater softener also boosts the efficiency of other water using appliances such as your water heater, washing machine and dishwasher by eliminating scale build-up in the appliances.

Health and Safety

EcoWater eliminates the use of harmful compounds in its manufacturing process. Your EcoWater-treated water keeps countertops, sinks, tubs and showers free from the build-up of scale, as well as dirt and grime. Use less soap and cleaning detergents, which results in less that ends up down the drain and into your community’s ground water or water system.

Reduce, Recycle, Reuse

EcoWater follows an integrated approach to recycling and waste management. We apply this approach from the earliest stages of product design through manufacturing and shipping. We are diligent about measuring and controlling our energy usage and air and water emissions.

EcoWater continually reduces the environmental impact of our products, including the way they are packaged, shipped and sold. Water used in manufacturing and testing product is captured and reused.

Chlorine Reduction

Many municipal water supplies have switched from chlorine to an alternative method of disinfection to reduce the formation of trihalomethanes (THMs). Chloramine, or chloramination, is a treatment method employed by public water systems, more than one in five Americans uses drinking water treated with chloramines. Chloramines do pose a risk for hemodialysis patients and fish. Nitrosamines can be generated as byproducts from use of chloramines. They are strongly suspected of being human carcinogens.

Bacteria Removal

Microbial and organic contaminants can’t always be detected through sight, smell or taste. You might go years before realizing a problem exists. Although some waterborne microbes can cause illness, many microbes are harmless or even beneficial. Very small levels of microbes are naturally present in many water supplies, but some are more dangerous than others. Some of the more dangerous microbial contaminants, such as E. coli, Giardia, and Cryptosporidium, can cause gastrointestinal problems and flu-like symptoms commonly attributed to undercooked or improperly stored food.

Single-celled organisms lacking well-defined nuclear membranes and other specialized functional cell parts which reproduce by cell division or spores. Bacteria may be free-living organisms or parasites. Bacteria (along with fungi) are decomposers that break down the wastes and bodies of dead organisms, making their components available for reuse.

Lead Reduction

Lead has a tendency to be complex and precipitated by a large number of substances. Studies indicate that nearly all the lead in users’ tap water does not come from the primary water source or from the municipal treatment plant, but as a result of corrosion that occurs after the water leaves the treatment facility. Lead can enter the home drinking water by leaching from service connections, solder used in copper piping and from brass fixtures.

www.WQA.org

Fluoride Reduction

Fluorine is a natural trace element and exists in almost all soils. Fluoride is classified as any binary compound of fluorine with another element. Perhaps the most widely known use of fluoride is its addition to public drinking water supplies at about one milligram per liter (mg/L) of a fluoride salt, measured as fluoride, for the purpose of reducing tooth decay.

Children under nine years of age exposed to levels of fluoride greater than about 2 mg/L may develop a condition known as mottling or discoloration of the permanent teeth. Exposure to drinking water levels above 4 mg/L for many years may result in cases of crippling skeletal fluorosis, which is a serious bone disorder resembling osteoporosis and characterized by extreme density and hardness and abnormal fragility of the bones (sometimes called “marble bones”).
